The 2024 South Congaree Championship Rodeo Was A Huge Success!

The 2024 South Congaree Championship Rodeo was held from July 18th to the 20th in South Congaree – southwest of downtown Columbia. Dick Smith Ford of Columbia is a proud sponsor of the South Congaree Championship Rodeo. 

This event is sanctioned by the International Pro Rodeo Association and has attracted many participants from around the world to compete in the IFR. 

The rodeo itself may be the main attraction. Every year, the South Congaree Championship Rodeo has plenty of things to do for the family. Food vendors were present, as well as a mechanical bull for those who dared to stay on for those precious eight seconds. 

At this year’s rodeo, the organizers held a special ceremony to recognize some amazing people. One was for Bar W Rodeo Productions, which sponsored three siblings in the Little Britches Rodeo finals in Oklahoma. They each were presented with a Bar W challenge coin during the rodeo. The other was for Adira, a mother-daughter group of beautiful voices. They were presented with a gold buckle for their continued support of the rodeo as our National Anthem singers.

According to their Facebook page, the rodeo summed up this year’s event: “The weather wasn’t the fairest, but the fans still showed up! You’re not only supporting the contestants on their way to Oklahoma, but all of our rodeo vendors are small business owners, and your patronage is greatly appreciated! Seeing the rodeo fans cheering from the bleachers makes all the preparation and tiresome days…[it was] worth it!”

In the end, there were champions. For one, rodeo professional Kade Stokes finished in first place in Thursday’s competition and put on a huge show for the crowd on Friday and Saturday. Others competed after weather delays and put on a great event for our community.

If you were there, you probably would have seen our Rodeo fleet on display and work the grounds. We showed off a couple of Mustangs, our support Transit van, a Bronco, and an F-150. We were glad to support this rodeo with our finest vehicles on display. 

The South Congaree Championship Rodeo is all about family. And a family that rodeos together – sticks together! That is their motto.
