Ford’s BlueCruise Gets Updated at a Lower Cost
The revolutionary Ford BlueCruise has given drivers more confidence without having to take the wheel. It is the beginning of a future where hands-free driving may become the norm.
For 2025, BlueCruise will receive the updated version 1.4. This new version improves hands-free highway driving time in various conditions, such as around a tight curve, in a narrow lane, during inclement weather, or the sun’s reflection on the vehicle’s sensors.
Added to BlueCruise 1.4 are enhancements that automatically and smoothly adjust the vehicle’s speed in curves, helping the driver to stay engaged in hands-free mode longer and experience a more continuous drive. BlueCruise 1.4 adds greater in-lane stability by unlocking an all-new motion controller. This will control the vehicle’s steering, helping to reduce the side-to-side movement within the lane. The new version of BlueCruise will also provide longer hands-free engagement, especially when you encounter a diverse set of driving conditions, from inclement weather to a nice sunny day.
You can now access BlueCruise on your Ford vehicle with both a one-year plan and a one-time purchase option. The one-year plan will either be included as standard or as an option based on the vehicle line and trim. Ford customers can choose to upgrade to a one-time purchase and won’t need to activate BlueCruise again on their vehicle.

In addition, Ford will continue to offer a 90-day complimentary trial to customers who do not select a one-year plan. This occurs when BlueCruise is not included as standard or the one-time purchase when you order your Ford vehicle. You will be able to experience hands-free highway driving for 90 days and then have the flexibility to activate annually or monthly at the end of the trial based on your needs. For example, you could activate the service for one month for a road trip and not activate it again for another year, or you could choose to activate it at another time.
For 2025, you can experience BlueCruise on the Ford Explorer, Expedition, F-150, F-150 Lightning, and Mustang Mach-E. On these vehicles, the one-year plan will either be included as standard or as an option at the time of a vehicle order for $495, based on the vehicle line and trim. Also, the one-time purchase will be available for $2,495 MSRP.
If you purchase a new 2024 or 2025 BlueCruise-equipped Ford vehicle, you will be eligible to upgrade to the one-time purchase if you choose. If eligible, the one-year plan and one-time purchase can also be rolled into the financing as part of the new vehicle purchase.
The new pricing plan for all Ford owners with BlueCruise-equipped vehicles is $495 annually and $49.99 monthly. BlueCruise customers with annual and monthly plans will see the price drop reflected in subsequent payments.
Ford believes that the future is BlueCruise, and its hands-free driving experience is designed to keep you focused and relaxed behind the wheel. If you are interested in seeing what it can do for you, contact us at Dick Smith Ford of Columbia for a demonstration of this great technology.
