The Ford F-150 Lightning Flash Is the Happy Medium (Trim)

If you include the work-ready PRO trim, the F-150 Lightning Flash is the middle trim of the five available. What makes the Flash an attractive way to get into an F-150 Lightning is the list of standard equipment.
The 131-kilowatt-hour extended range battery pack delivers an estimated 300 miles of range. It sends energy to two electric motors—one at each axle. Combined, this delivers 580 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. When you specify an F-150 Lightning Flash, you get ample capability, including a maximum tow rating of 7,700 pounds and a payload rating of 1,913 pounds.
Inside the bed, the 9.6-kilowatt Pro Power Onboard has more than enough energy to do a lot of work on-site. That includes a set of 110-120-volt and 220-240-volt outlets. It has the ability to power up a campsite without the use of a gasoline-fueled generator.
Inside the cabin, the Flash comes with Active-X upholstery with the look and feel of fabric upholstery. Considering our climate, the front and rear seats will never be too hot or cold. Plus, they are durable to resist wear and tear.

For those of you who work with your pickup truck, the F-150 Lightning offers a workspace right at your driver’s seat. Just press the button to fold the shifter into the center console and flip the armrest over. A convenient nearby 110–120-volt outlet lets you power up your laptop as you work away. You can connect your smartphone without needing to plug into one of the USB ports, and a wireless charger will maintain your device’s battery while in use.
Every F-150 Lightning is equipped with a 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen that is the hub for most functions. There’s so much to discover through this touchscreen, including plenty of available apps for both the driver to use and the passengers to enjoy. In fact, fellow travelers may like to use the karaoke app—just in case the driver wants to hear them sing his or her favorite song.
Pickup trucks are practical, but they can also present challenges when you and your family are traveling. The answer to “where to safely secure your luggage and other goodies” is easily answered by the Mega Power Frunk. It can hold up to 14.1 cubic feet of items—even your week’s groceries—in a secure, power-operated storage area up front. It loads at bumper height. You will also find some additional power outlets inside the frunk.

You can get the F-150 Lightning Flash with BlueCruise, our hands-free driver-assistance technology. It helps you maintain your pickup truck at a set highway speed while keeping you centered in the lane. The system will also prompt you to take the wheel when necessary.
The F-150 Lightning Flash is a complete package full of upgraded equipment available at an attractive value. If the F-150 Lightning Flash sounds like the right electric pickup truck, contact us at Dick Smith Ford of Columbia to see one soon.
