​​The Ford F-150 Lightning Flash Is the Happy Medium (Trim)​

If you include the work-ready PRO trim, the F-150 Lightning Flash is the middle trim of the five available. What makes the Flash an attractive way to get into an F-150 Lightning is the list of standard equipment.  

The 131-kilowatt-hour extended range battery pack delivers an estimated 300 miles of range. It sends energy to two electric motors—one at each axle. Combined, this delivers 580 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. When you specify an F-150 Lightning Flash, you get ample capability, including a maximum tow rating of 7,700 pounds and a payload rating of 1,913 pounds.

You can connect your smartphone without needing to plug into one of the USB ports, and a wireless charger will maintain your device’s battery while in use. 

Every F-150 Lightning is equipped with a 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen that is the hub for most functions. There’s so much to discover through this touchscreen, including plenty of available apps for both the driver to use and the passengers to enjoy. In fact, fellow travelers may like to use the karaoke app—just in case the driver wants to hear them sing his or her favorite song.  

Pickup trucks are practical, but they can also present challenges when you and your family are traveling. The answer to “where to safely secure your luggage and other goodies” is easily answered by the Mega Power Frunk. It can hold up to 14.1 cubic feet of items—even your week’s groceries—in a secure, power-operated storage area up front. It loads at bumper height.
