The Ford Mustang Mach E Rally Is A WRC Hero In the Making

The World Rally Championship is among the toughest motorsports competition in the world. It takes a special kind of vehicle to outlast conditions that could be dangerous at times. It is clearly not for the tame amongst us.
Ford had its share of triumphs on the WRC circuit. For decades, our vehicles tackled snow, ice, desert heat, treacherous mountain passes, switchbacks, mud, and dirt for thousands of miles at a time. From homologation specials to tuned cars from the factory, Ford made its mark as a formidable challenger in this circuit.
At Ford, there is a given chance that the imagination may run wild with ideas that are inspired by its past. That imagination created the 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally.

What makes a Mustang Mach-E a Rally car starts with an inch ride height lift from the standard Mustang Mach-E GT suspension. Ford added RallyCross-tuned shocks and springs to help the Mustang Mach-E Rally SUV tackle uneven and rough terrain. Gloss-white 19-inch wheels with Michelin CrossClimate2 tires were made to add grip to loose-surface traction and strength, while underbody shielding helps to protect the vehicle from the grime that’s common in this type of driving.
Ford added contrasting accents to the 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally to highlight its high-performance personality, including upper and lower body moldings, a front splitter and rear spoiler for aggressive styling, a black painted steel roof, and built-in rally-inspired fog lights.
The 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally’s driveline puts down 480 horsepower through two electric motors, with an astounding torque figure of 700 pound-feet of torque—more than enough to move mountains.

Recently, Autoblog had a turn in a 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally at the DirtFish Rally school near Seattle. As they warmed up, they stumbled upon the new RallySport mode. This mode enables the Mustang Mach-E Rally to bring in the torque sooner and tightens up the steering as the electric SUV masters tight turns on rougher surfaces.
Another part of the 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally’s arsenal is the RallyCross MagneRide Damping System. This system works as the shocks emit little magnetic particles that can change the viscosity of the shock fluid. A computer connected to the shocks runs a current through the fluid, causing those particles to clump together. The results astounded the Autoblog team, as they made easy work on the muddy conditions at the rally school.
To stop the 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally is a set of Brembo brake calipers. The Autoblog team noted that they worked very well in the conditions they experienced.
In all, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally sounds like a lot of fun. Great news, you can actually own one! Contact us at Dick Smith Ford of Columbia to see how you can make one your own. Oh, and please tread lightly when you go off the highway.
