What’s The Difference Between The Ford F-150 Tremor and the Raptor?
Pickup trucks may be work tools, but we know you want to have fun with them. When you’re looking for a wide trail to tackle up in the Upcountry, you want to have the right truck to do so.
The Ford F-150 has two off-road-ready versions: the Tremor and the Raptor. What are the differences between the two? While the Tremor and Raptor can run along a rough road and across an empty field, these models give you different degrees of capability and performance.
The Tremor enhances the F-150’s four-wheel drive capability beyond the FX4 package available on other trim levels. The four-wheel drive system features an Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly with Neutral Towing Capability for better control when pulling a trailer and on and off the highway. Your Selectable Drive Modes expand to include specific terrain conditions the Tremor will encounter. Skid plates add protection underneath the Tremor, while you can add the available modular Front Bumper with Accessory Attachment Capability.
Unlike other four-wheel drive F-150 models, the Tremor adds Trail Control with Trail 1-Pedal Drive and Trail Turn Assist. These electronic enhancements will help you get out of trouble in the tightest and toughest spots. The finishing piece to the Tremor is a set of 18-inch Dark Matte Finish Alloy Wheels with 33-inch All-Terrain Tires.
Tremor models offer a choice of performance. The standard engine is a 5.0-liter V8, while you can select the EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
If you want capability beyond the highway, then the Raptor is your upgrade. It is the original purpose-built off-road-ready pickup truck. To achieve a high level of capability, the Raptor adds a four-wheel drive system with a Hi-Lock Transfer Case, along with Ford Trail Control with Trail 1-Pedal Drive and Trail Turn Assist—both further enhancing off-road agility in the toughest spots.
Keeping balance and absorbing the rougher stuff, the Raptor is equipped with front and rear Sport-Tuned Shock Absorbers. Available on the Raptor are FOX Dual-Live Valve Shocks. You also have the availability of a set of 17-inch Forged Aluminum Wheels with 37-inch All-Terrain Tires. Keeping everything protected is a set of heavy-duty skid plates.
The Raptor’s only power choice is a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost High Output Engine with 45-0 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
