Everyone has seen at least a photo of the Tesla Cybertruck. It offers a lot of promises with its advanced shape and new-in-class innovations. However, there is another battery-electric pickup truck in town – Ford’s F-150 Lightning. This may seem like an unfair comparison, but let’s find out which advantages the F-150 Lightning has over the Cybertruck.

For one, it looks and is built like a pickup truck from the ground up. The F-150 Lightning is designed to give Ford customers – and any electric pickup truck customer – a visual familiarity. A look that is contemporary and functional. In fact, there are only a few differences between the Lightning and all other F-150s. We like a lot of familiarity with our pickup trucks.

The difference is in the details. The F-150 Lightning’s lighting set-up front and back is larger and more visible. That includes the large LED lighting signature up front surrounding the grille. Just like our regular F-150s, the box is separate from the body. This is a sign of strength in managing payloads. There are no sharp edges on the body, and it comes in more than one color and a few trim levels.

Underneath the F-150 Lightning’s body are two choices for performance.  Standard Battery Range models have 452 horsepower, while Extended Battery Range models put down 580 horsepower. Both versions send 775 pound-feet of torque down low with ease. Extended Battery Range models can go up to 320 miles on a fully charged battery. As for capability, the F-150 Lightning can tow up to 8,500 pounds.

Inside the F-150 Lightning, you have plenty of information right in front of you with our 12-inch Digital Productivity Screen, which is free from distraction. Next to it is our 15.5-inch touchscreen driven by the SYNC 4A infotainment system, which features easy-to-access functions and connectivity. If you fold down the shifter into the center console and fold over the armrest, you have more productivity available to you. On top of all of this, the controls of the F-150 Lightning are much easier to use and comprehend.

We can talk about the advantages of price, quality, and durability. We offer an F-150 Lightning that fits your needs and budget – from our XLT model to our Platinum. This is why we continue our four decades-plus leadership as the best-selling vehicle in America. No other battery-electric pickup truck offers you an array of choice.
